Keedbet Ghana App — Web-Only + USSD *385# Guide
Short answer
Keedbet does not ship a native Android APK. The operator’s distribution model is web-only PWA + USSD *385# for offline betting — by design. Every “Keedbet APK download” page on the affiliate web is selling something that doesn’t exist. This page explains the actual install paths and why Keedbet’s choice is (probably) the right one for the Ghanaian market.
How we confirmed there is no APK
Two independent confirmations:
- Operator’s own /download route renders the same encrypted SPA shell as the rest of the site — no APK binary link, no Play Store badge, no “download for Android” CTA. Verified 15 June 2026 via Playwright render through Ghana proxy.
- Affiliate-side independent observation: betvoc.com’s Keedbet app review describes the operator verbatim — “Keedbet’s web-only approach is a smart move for the Ghanaian market. It respects your device’s storage…”
Why web-only is (probably) the right call
1. Storage cost on the Ghana Android base
The most common Android devices in Ghana — Tecno, Infinix, Itel, and the lower-spec Samsung A-series — ship with 32–64 GB of internal storage. WhatsApp, mobile-money apps, photos, and the Play Store updates eat that fast. A 50 MB sportsbook app vs a 0 MB PWA install is a real trade-off; web-only lets the player participate without negotiating storage.
2. Update friction
App updates require a Play Store roundtrip + the player’s willingness to OK a 30+ MB download on (often) MTN/AirtelTigo/Telecel data. Web-only updates happen server-side: the next page load IS the new version. No friction.
3. Google Play policy uncertainty for gambling apps in Ghana
Play Store’s gambling-app policy is regional. Some operators ship via Play Store, some ship operator-hosted APK only, some do both. Going web-only sidesteps the policy risk entirely.
4. The MOJABET platform supports it natively
Keedbet runs on the MOJABET white-label platform (operator-confirmed via the inline __PRERENDERED_CONFIGS__.common.operatorId field). MOJABET is built as a PWA-first platform; the web-only posture is the platform default, not a Keedbet-side limitation.
How to install the Keedbet PWA
1. Open keedbet.com.gh in Chrome.
2. Tap the three-dot menu (top-right).
3. Select “Add to Home screen” (or “Install app” on newer Chrome versions).
4. Confirm the name (Keedbet Ghana) and tap “Add”.
5. The icon appears on your home screen — taps now open the operator inside its own window, no browser chrome.
Same flow on Samsung Internet (long-press the address bar → “Add page to Home screen”), Firefox Mobile (three-dot menu → “Install”), and Safari iOS (Share → “Add to Home Screen”). The PWA behaves like an installed app: standalone window, splash screen, persistent login session (until you sign out).
The USSD layer — bet without internet
The operator’s own X account confirms USSD *385# as the offline-betting code. Verbatim from the post: “No Internet? No Problem! Bet from anywhere — even without Wi-Fi. Dial *385# to play your favorite European and Ghanaian ma…”. Walked in detail on the USSD page; key point for this app page: the USSD layer means Keedbet is reachable even when the data connection isn’t, which closes the “no APK = unreachable in dead-zones” objection the most.
Trade-offs vs a native app
| Feature | Native APK (other operators) | Keedbet (web-only + USSD) |
|---|---|---|
| Storage footprint | 30–60 MB | 0 MB |
| Updates | User-triggered, data-cost | Server-side, zero friction |
| Push notifications | Native | Web push (browser-permitted) |
| Offline betting | App still needs data to settle | USSD *385# works without data |
| Biometric login | Yes (Android keystore) | Browser-dependent (passkey-capable) |
| Play Store presence | Yes | No (policy-sidestep) |
| Discovery | “Sportybet app” search → Play Store | Must know the URL |
The risk Keedbet accepts
The web-only model has one structural cost: discovery. A potential player who searches “Keedbet app” expects to land on a Play Store listing, doesn’t find one, and may default-install a malicious lookalike from a third-party APK mirror. The mitigations:
- Operator + ecosystem messaging needs to clearly say “we don’t have an APK — go to keedbet.com.gh.” This page is part of that mitigation.
- The USSD *385# is the “no-app discovery” fallback — a punter who can’t find the app can still bet via the short code.
- The keedbet.com.gh domain itself is the canonical install point.
It’s not from the operator. Keedbet does not ship a native Android app. Any APK file calling itself Keedbet on a third-party mirror (APKPure, Uptodown, etc.) was not built or signed by the operator. Stick to keedbet.com.gh + the PWA install-to-homescreen flow.
